PRICING AND ORDERING INFORMATION
Every one of our curved mouldings is custom made to the
customer's specifications. Given the wide range of curve
shapes,
moulding profiles and wood species available it is not feasible to
maintain a stock of "ready to ship" mouldings.
We have dealers in several areas around
the country and it can be to your advantage to work with one of them.
They have experience in the ordering process so know what information
is needed to assure that your moulding "fits" the opening.
Also feel free to work directly with us prior to placing an order
through a dealer.
( Click here to see local dealers. )
Whether ordering directly or through a dealer, we need very specific
information, as
listed below, in order to price and/or make your moulding(s).
Among
other details this can include exact measurements and/or tracings of
the opening(s). We can often price a moulding prior to
receipt of
some of these items, but we need to have all necessary information
before we can produce and ship your order.
If you are requesting information for a specific situation, you may
want to consider including your
NAME,
ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER
so that we can contact you
with questions. You
can also use our ONLINE FORM
which is
helpful in guiding you through this detailed process.
Please review the
following for
more information on what is needed to quote you a price.
1. INSTALLATION LOCATION.
Where is this moulding going to be used? Is it going to trim a window
or
doorway, or is it for an arched passageway between two rooms. The more
we know about where you intend to use the moulding, the better we will
be able to help you choose the "right" moulding for the
job.
You can find a bief explanation of trim carpentry terms at our "Terminology" page.
2. THE CURVE TYPE YOU NEED.
You can determine what type of shape you need by looking at our "Curve
Types" page. Typically this will be a half-round, full-round,
eyebrow,
elliptical etc.
3. THE PROFILE SIZE.
We need to know if the moulding is to be 3/4" thick, 1" thick or
perhaps
some other thickness. Also, is it 2 1/2" wide, 3" wide, 3 1/2" wide or
again some other width.
4. THE PROFILE PATTERN.
Is the moulding one of the stock patterns shown on our "Profile
Pattern Sheets". If it is not a pattern for which we already
have
knives,
then there may be an additional charge for making "custom knives" to
match
your moulding.
5. THE TYPE OF WOOD TO BE USED.
Are you going to paint or stain the moulding? For paint
grade,
we
usually
work with pine or poplar. For stain grade, we will use the species you
request.
6. MOULDING SIZE.
We need to know the width and height of your moulding. Measure your
opening
(window, door or passageway), and determine the width of your moulding
from inside corner to inside corner. Also, determine the height of the
moulding from the bottom of the curve to the inside top of the curve.
6. ORDERING AND PAYMENT.
Most moulding orders will require direct communication via telephone to
make sure we have all the details correct. We may also need
to
fax or email confirmation drawings for your review prior to
making an
order. We typically require a 50% deposit with the balance
due
COD. Payment can be made by check, Visa or
Mastercard .
NOTE:
The
above, and
sometimes additional, information is necessary
for us to provide you with a
price for
a moulding. If you have any questions regarding these details
please
call (or email us your phone number so that we can call you).
Remember:
we are located on the east coast; be sure to let us know where you are
so that we can call at an appropriate time.
